My Story
I have had a love for all things fitness and nutrition since my mid to late teens when I first visited a gym with my brother. From the love came the education. I studied for 4 years at Oxford Brookes University completing a Foundation Science Year, then a 3 year Hons degree.
I trained in the gym throughout my studies, it was my release, my treat and my therapy. I fell in love with my Sports Nutrition module as part of my degree and decided I had to incorporate my two loves. I came straight out of University and completed my Personal Training Diploma and followed it by working in Gyms in various capacities for a number of years on and off.
Life then took a different course and I found myself working in Medical Research for 10 years, finally as a Research Support Manager in Oxford in 2019.
During my career I maintained my love of fitness, even throughout both my pregnancies, pre and post natal stages.
I left my career in Research to spend more time with my growing young family and help manage the enormous life project of building a home.
Along the journey of life I also fell in love with Group Fitness Classes and the positivity and joy they can bring. With huge thanks to some very inspirational instructors and very encouraging friends I decided last year to bring it all together. I qualified as a Les Mills Core/CX Works instructor and the momentum has grown at speed and so my have qualifications and experience. Now with our house build almost complete, my husband and I decided to find space for my love and passion at home, where I can bring it all to life. With a dedicated gym space, studio, accommodation and peaceful garden space, our dream has become a reality.
During my early years in the fitness industry, I sometimes found it very tough, highly competitive and too heavily based on appearance rather than experience and education. Being a bit of an introvert at heart, it was a tough journey at times. I am delighted to say that I have found my return to the industry a very different place. Firstly, I believe fitness on the whole has grown a huge amount, especially for females and how we should be represented but also because with 40 years of life experience I am more certain of who I am! I want to bring this to my classes and my clients and make sure that each experience at the Letcombe Studio is unique, non-judgemental and personally suited.
I strongly believe everyone can fall in love with fitness!
I have many fitness passions, running, boxing, strength training, walking, Pilates, dance (a new love) and almost anything outdoors.
Let me help you find yours.
